How to clean a dog water dispenser?
As we can’t reach the insides of the water dispenser, we need a cleaning solution that can soak into the dispenser and break down any dirt or grime. The best way to do this is to use salt and ice chips. If you do not have ice chips, you can also use sand. let’s take a look!
Method 1 (Salt and ice)
First, fill the water dispenser with water and add 1 cup of salt. Then, add a handful of ice chips and close the lid. Shake the dispenser vigorously for a few minutes. The salt and ice will break down the dirt and grime inside the dispenser.
Next, remove the salt and ice solution, and fill the water dispenser with soap and water and let it soak for 30 minutes. After 30 minutes, open the lid and discard the contents.
Finally, rinse the water dispenser with clean water and let it dry off. And that’s it! You’ve successfully cleaned your dog’s water dispenser without using any tools.

Finally, rinse the water dispenser with clean water and allow it to dry. That’s all there is to it. You may now use your dog’s clean water dispenser.

How to clean a water dispenser with vinegar?
Cleaning with vinegar is much more difficult than using salt or sand. The reason being is that reaching the interior of a water dispenser is very difficult. That is why we do not recommend using vinegar to clean your water dispenser.
If you do decide to use vinegar, be sure to add 1 cup of vinegar for every 2 cups of water. Try to find a brush or sponge to reach the interior of the water dispenser. Soak a brush or sponge in the vinegar solution and scrub the interior of the water dispenser. Rinse it out with clean water and let it dry.
How to keep a dog water dispenser clean?
Algae and bacteria build-up in your dog’s water dispenser is almost inevitable. This is because the water is not flowing which allows algae and bacteria to grow.
The best way to prevent this is to clean the water dispenser regularly. We recommend cleaning it at least once a week, but more often if you notice any build-up.
Refilling water multiple times a day will also help to prevent build-up as it will flush out any algae or bacteria that might be growing.
